A New Take on Wooden Beads

Most of my crafting time has been spent on paper crafts – scrapbooking, cards, etc. The beads sat on the jewelry cart, neglected and ignored for months, if not years.

Then I got inspired.

I start with inexpensive wooden beads and transform them into something fresh and new. I use a combination of lacquer and powdered pigments and the results are amazing. I love how the beads have such depth and almost seem to glow from within. Unlike the paper crafts I usually prefer, this is a slow process and takes a lot of patience, but I think it’s worth it.

Watch for a podcast on this process sometime soon. I want to experiment a little more before I share the details with you.
