The Shiles Studio web site launched the 1st of March 2002. This site should be of interest to artists, aspiring artists, art collectors and those who are interested in beautiful things. Features include frequently updated Galleries of paintings by instructors and students, a limited number of which are available for purchase. Shows sponsored and judged by the Shiles Studio will be announced; with the times and locations listed. Tutorials will explain a particular technique or trick which you may wish to try, providing 24 hour instruction. Monthly how-to lessons are planned. Examples of up-coming classes include: how to select mats for paintings; the types of frames available; how to select the right frame for your painting; and how to set up your home studio. Please contact Don or Gay Shiles on questions or other items of interest. Your question could appear in the Tutorial or a future lesson. We love art and we love to teach and hope we can share some of our love of beauty with all of you. Please take a look.

Student Show and Artists' Reception

The semi annual show, organized by Shiles Studio, and featuring the work of current students, ran from Jan 25 through March 2nd. The students displayed a total of forty water color paintings. An Artists' Reception and presentation of awards was held on March 2nd and was open to the public. The next show will be held in September.
